01 · What it is

A digital companion that gives attention back.

Meta-Pet is a concept in active development by The Moss Man / Blue $nake Studio. It combines a digital pet care model with STEAM learning mechanics, pattern recognition tasks and a symbolic identity system powered by Moss 60 base-60 geometry.

The core idea: a digital companion that children can care for, customise and learn with — without any of the design patterns that extract attention, money or data from children or families.

The prototype is available at bluesnakestudios.com. It runs in the browser — no download, no app store, no accounts. Open and use immediately. School pilot enquiries are welcome — contact the studio directly.

02 · Why it is safe

What Meta-Pet will never do.

🚫

No ads

No advertising. No sponsored content. No branded characters. No revenue model built on attention capture.

🔒

No trackers

No analytics tracking, no fingerprinting, no third-party data sharing. What happens in the app stays in the app.

📵

No social feed

No infinite scroll. No likes, shares or follower counts. No comparison or social pressure mechanics.

🎰

No gambling loops

No loot boxes. No random rewards engineered for compulsion. No pay-to-win or premium unlocks targeting children.

☁️

No unnecessary cloud data

Local-first design. Child data is not uploaded, profiled or sold. No accounts required for core features.

⏱️

Healthy session design

Designed to end. Sessions are bounded. No dark patterns to extend screen time beyond what the child or teacher intended.

03 · Straight answers

The short version, for schools and IT officers.

The full detail lives in the privacy policy and the school pilot pack. These are the plain answers up front.

What data is stored?

Only what the child creates in play: pet progress, customisation and settings. No names, no accounts, no profiles.

Where is it stored?

Locally, in the browser on the device being used. Nothing is transmitted to the studio or to any third party by default.

Who can delete it?

Anyone with access to the device — the teacher, the parent or the child. Clearing the browser's site data removes everything.

What happens if the browser cache is cleared?

The pet and its progress are gone. There is no cloud copy, which is the trade-off of local-first design.

What is exported, and by whom?

Nothing is exported automatically. Any export is a deliberate, teacher- or parent-initiated action on the device.

What is never collected?

Names, emails, photos, voice, location, contacts, behavioural profiles, advertising identifiers. There is no mechanism to collect them.

Who is responsible during a classroom incident?

The supervising teacher, under the school's normal ICT and behaviour policies. Meta-Pet has no chat, social or contact features, so there is no in-app channel for incidents to arrive through.
